Conflict-free minerals statement

無衝突礦產聲明

MEKTEC Corporation has always respected human rights and continuously practiced the corporate citizenship philosophy. In response to the signing of House Resolution No. 4173 (HR 4173) “Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act” (Dodd-Frank Act) by US President Obama in July 2010, We specifically state that the use of “conflict minerals” is prohibited.

The RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) pointed out that some metal minerals have become the main source of money for armed insurgent groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. The money are used to trade arms to continue the bloody conflict with the government, and ravage local civilians, which has caused international controversy. . In order to ensure that no conflict minerals are used, MEKTEC Corporation promises:
1. Follow the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) regulations to conduct diligent investigation of the supply chain.

2. Although MEKTEC Corporation does not directly purchase metal raw materials, we still strongly express that we do not support or use tin mining (Sn), Tantalum (Ta), Tungsten (W), Gold (Au), Cobalt (Co) and other metal minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and neighboring countries in Africa, which are subject to armed conflict, illegal mining and poor working environment.

3. In order to avoid the use of illegally mined metals in product raw materials and production processes, we also strictly require suppliers to refuse to use “conflict minerals” from conflict areas, and at the same time we require suppliers to communicate this requirement to their suppliers and do their best together to fulfill the responsibility of corporate citizenship.
